  • Göcek GoTürkiye

Göcek is a pretty harbour town where the Mediterranean and the Aegean Seas meet. It is famous for its 6 large marinas which attract the yachting community from all around the world. It’s also the starting point for many Gulet (a traditional wooden masted Caique sailing boat) Blue Cruises, you can charter the whole boat or just a cabin for a weeklong trip.

Göcek is located halfway between Köyçeğiz and Fethiye and is easily accessible from Dalaman Airport which makes it a great spot for a night’s stopover if you have an early departure or late arrival.

Historically, it was known as Kalimche and, in legend, is the place where Icarus fell when he flew too close to the sun in the famous Greek myth.

The town itself is small and quaint, with a walkable town centre and lots of chic cafés, restaurants, and places to dine with great views looking out over the beauty of the Mediterranean and the Aegean.
